You are probably just as anxious as we to see what new full-size SUVs are going to hit the market this year. Many of them have already been announced, but there are some indications that we will see more announcements as the year passes by and one of the most interesting is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe.
All eyes are focused on three big car manufacturers: Ford, Toyota, and General Motors. All three of those manufacturers top-notch SUV’s but one of them stands above all when it comes to full-size SUVs – General Motors, or to be more accurate its subsidiary, Chevrolet. Chevy announced several weeks ago that new 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe will hit the market a year from now.

Last year we could see that Chevy put a lot of effort in redesigning this model thus we shouldn’t expect they will do the same thing this year. Many were fascinated when the previous model came to the market hence people at Chevy didn’t want to make huge modifications this time. Some features are going to be updated but it won’t have many new characteristics. You don’t need to doubt new 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe will deliver the goods with few added features. Today we are presenting some of the most important features of this full-size SUV.

Many details are kept of record (or maybe they are still unknown), but information about the engine was published at Chevrolet’s official website. Currently, there is only one unit announced and there are no any speculations about the second one. The 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe will be fast (and furious) thanks to the 4.5l six-cylinder powerplant that can create 380 horsepower. This isn’t a significant increase of hp, but there is no need for the greater amount of power. With this engine, you won’t have any problems and will be satisfied with its overall performance that was proven in years before.

The biggest advantage of this unit is its efficiency. It is estimated that the 4.5l will consume much less fuel than its predecessor, up to 18%. This is a significant improvement, but we need to wait for the official test to confirm this assumption. If this turns out to be true that will mean Tahoe will be the most efficient full-size SUV produced by GM. The transmission system is going to remain unchanged, so it is going to be mated to the six-speed automatic gearbox. It seems that manual transmission is becoming less and less popular on the US market at least in this segment where SUV’s rule.

In general, full-size SUVs don’t have aerodynamic design thus they use a lot of fuel, plus, we need to add that because of their size these models are usually very heavy. They are huge and usually not so much attractive, but that is something you must get used to if you want to buy one. The 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe is quite spacious, and it looks very luxurious with a decently long list of interesting additions. It will also have wide color range, something that will make new Tahoe more personalized and even this might not be the most important feature for those drivers that are looking for a new SUV it certainly can’t harm it. There won’t be huge changes when it comes to exterior, and it will be hard to tell the difference between new and old model.

Since it offers a lot of space, it will be convenient for all people inside the cabin. New Tahoe is going to be equipped with standard features, such as LCD touchscreen, Bluetooth connection, USB connection, extraordinary audio system and much more. All seats will be wrapped in leather and the whole interior is going to be warm and welcoming. There is even an option to fold rear seats and provide more space for cargo in case you need to transfer more stuff and larger objects.

Price and Release Date

It seems that we won’t see the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe before summer of 2016. We can just hope it will be presented at some car shows earlier than then but since it will not be a significantly changed version we do not expect much fuss about it. Costs for this model will be set to about $47,000 for a base version, in case you decide to get higher trim level be prepared to pay up to $64,740 for an LTZ 4WD version.
